So I woke up kind of early this morning at least for me and got up and got ready. Then I decided that I was going to go and visit my favorite xoi lady. Xoi is sticky rice that many Vietnamese eat in the morning. There are three different women that sell xoi on campus but the one that sits on the corner next to the canteen has the best xoi. I know just enough Vietnamese to be able to communicate with her what I want and doen't want. She sits there every morning until she sells out of xoi and talks to everyone that comes here way. I think that the xoi ladies are like the morning newspaper here in Vietnam. They tell everyone that comes their way what is going on and gives them the latest news. Well at least that is my theory, I don't actually know enought Vietnamese to be able to prove that.
While I was up I thought that I should update you on how I'm doing. It has been nice here in Vinh for the past couple of days. I can hardly beleive that it didn't rain all day yesterday! Today I am going with Sandy to a wedding of one of her former students. Then the afternoon I am going to get on a train and try to get up to Hanoi. Please keep me in your thoughts because I am nervous about traveling by myself and it is suppose to rain today in Hanoi. I really don't want my train to get stuck again. But I am trusting in the father and I know that he is with me. Let's keep our fingers crossed that my next post will be all about the fun I had in Hanoi!
